Better World Arts Christmas Ball - Theo Hudson
Spruce up your tree with these large decorative hand painted and lacquered Christmas Balls, made from recycled paper. Approx 80mm diameter.
The Art -
Based on a painting by Theo Hudson. Pikilyi is an important natural spring and water-hole at Mt Doreen Station in the Northern Territory. Pikilyi is the home of two rainbow serpents, a married couple. The wife was a Napananka skin group and the husband a Japangardi, a taboo relationship in the Walpri culture. The serpents are the “kirda’ traditional owners of that country.
The Artisans -
These decorations are lacquerware, a traditional Kashmiri handicraft, which is made from recycled paper then hand painted by artisans utilising Aboriginal artists' designs.
All products produced by Better World Arts cross cultural projects return royalties to the artists and their communities.
