The art -

Blue horses, abstract forms, exploding colors: The members of the artists' association "Der Blaue Reiter", founded in Munich in 1911, paved the way for modern art of the 20th century. Excerpts from the paintings by these renowned Expressionist artists in an attractive vertical format give art lovers a new and often surprising look at the details of iconic works.

Der Blaue Reiter (the Blue Rider Group) was a German art movement lasting from 1911 to 1914, fundamental to Expressionism. The group was founded by a number of Russian emigrants including Wassily Kandinsky, Alexj von Jawlensky, Marianne von Werefkin and native German artists, such as Franz Marc, August Macke and Gabriele Munter.
