Fiona Craig

Fiona Craig was born in Sydney and grew up in the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, studying arts and crafts at home and at local art groups including Margo Lewers’ Studio with tutor Mirabel Fitzgerald. Fiona appeared many times with other young artists in the ABC program “On the Inside” and her art was often discussed on the ABC radio programs The Argonauts and Young World.

Fiona worked for many years doing portraits by commission, and then a series of landscapes influenced by the Blue Mountains area. She then began to paint Australian native flora, becoming particularly interested in close up studies of gum leaves, waratahs, banksias and other flowers unique to Australia.

Fiona paints with oils or with a combination of watercolours and pastels.
