The Artist -

Melanie Hava was born into an interesting and diverse mix of cultures - her father comes from Enns (the oldest city in upper Austria) and her mother from one of the oldest cultures on earth - the Aboriginal people of Australia. Whilst Melanie celebrates her Austrian heritage  she also identifies through her mother’s culture, as a Mamu Aboriginal woman, Dugul-barra and Wari-barra family groups from the North Johnstone River catchment of the Wet Tropics of Far North Queensland and the adjoining Great Barrier Reef sea country. Melanie has  been exhibiting her work since 2005 and has developed a distinctive contemporary style.
